Vodacom
Vodacom online advert misleading

Telecommunications

I was due for an upgrade on my Vodacom contract and decided to do it online. In the online advert - [URL Removed] - it clearly states "Free Delivery, Free sim and Free connection". The phone was delivered in record time (less than the 3 days minimum specified, which is great) but no sim was delivered. I went into the Vodashop at Clearwater mall to then get a sim (because the phone required a micro sim) and I had to fork out R105 for the sim. The advert clearly states that the sim is free and in the terms and conditions no mention is made of the need to purchase a micro sim if the phone requires one. When I mentioned to the consultant at the Vodashop that the advert stated this, he bluntly said I need to take it up with Vodacom.
The advert is misleading stating that it's a free sim and I would like to be reimbursed for the purchase of the micro sim. You should look at changing the wording of the advert if the sim is indeed not free!
