My wife an I joined the gym Last year solely because we wanted to get in shape for our wedding which took place in December. We were advised by Paula that taking a longer period contract would be cheaper but since we knew we only wanted to gym till December or so we decided to only take a 6 month contract which ended on the 22nd of january 2013. I know we were supposed to read the contract but who has time for that while sitting in the consultants office and we expected to be well informed anyway. We never got a notice or an information which gave us a heads up as to what was going to happen next. We got an sms telling us our account is in arrears. so i phoned to tell them that our contract expired the 22nd of january already. this is the only time we heard we were supposed to give a months notice by going into the gym to a consultant again. this is the only time we went back to our contract to see if this is really so. now paula is telling me that it is out of her hands and that we are supposed to talk to Ruth. Ruth tells me i have to pay 2 months now as I am to late to give notice of cancelation for the second month now meaning I am to give Zone fitness R1200 for nothing.
