Misinformed by sales staff

I purchased a "Gift of health voucher for a friend of mine. When I bought the voucher I was specifically told that the deal was R1200 for a year long membership, I made certain of this when I enquired about the deal and again when I paid. When I paid for the deal there was no voucher book at Wanderers as someone had apparently taken it to another branch for the day. I was told that my receipt would suffice and that all I had to do was come in again to get him to sign up, I reluctantly accepted this. When we came to sign up we had to wait for over 30minutes to be helped and had to ask to be helped. As we were going through the signing up process I was then informed that the deal had changed to a 6 month deal. This in my opinion is unacceptable as I was misinformed by Planet Fitness staff. Had I known that the deal was only for a 6 month period I would not have bought it.

I was told that the manager would contact me, which he did two days later and I was then asked to put the issue in writing. I did this on 29/01/2013 and I am still waiting for a reply.
