I had a membership with the Roodepoort branch. I took a membership out for me and my wife. We ended up never going to the gym but my account was still debited every month. Out of the blue, I got a call from a guy named MAX regarding my account. He had said that my account was in arrears and that it needed to be settled. I found this strange as I have a debit order set up and therefore the correct amount gets deducted on a monthly basis. Max advised me to print my bank statements and come to the branch. Once I had all the statements, I phoned and Max was on leave so the other guy I delt with informed me that my account was up to date, so I left it as is.

Once Max Returned I got a call from him asking when will I be settling the account so I explained to him what was said to me. Two months later he phoned me again saying I need to settle my account. At this point I got irritated and asked him to just cancel my membership. He told me over the phone that he will arrange for it. Now 4 months later I was debited twice for something and not Roodepoort or Head office can tell me what it was for and I am still waiting for feedback from LIZZY at head office!! this service is shocking!
