My wife had money removed from her bank account by Planet Fitness without authorisation supposedly for an overdue account. we have never had any advice from them about an overdue account. i eventually worked out that the two of us had signed identical contracts in Dec 2009 which required an up front payment of R 5 464 which we made. the contract was to run for 60 months after which time it could be cancelled or converted to a monthly one with a payment of R 149.00. My wife broke her knee and we cancelled her contract in 2011 and received a refund from Planet Fitness for the unused portion. On 15 October the bank deductions began at a rate of R 250 every 5 days. My wife! s bank reversed all but the oldest deduction and put a block on the account. After endless email and a visit to the Durbanville gym where the contracts were signed we still have no acknowledgement from them that there was an error. The manager at the gym who I saw and who promised me 2 days to solve the problem has not called me back after 2 weeks despite telling the receptionist on an open line that he would go to his office and call me back. i am still owed R 257.and an assurance that the error has been corrected
