Virgin Active Trying to Make Some Sly Extra Money?

I signed up at Virgin Active Stellenbosch on a student package, with the assurance that I will be able to move my contract to another branch when I return home for the holidays.

So the holidays came and I tried to move my membership, the lady at Virgin Stellenbosch's Reception made a call to the call center to move my membership. Once she was done talking to the lady at the call center, the phone was handed to me to confirm my membership-move. I was then told that my contract will go up from R255.10 to about R380 per month and that I will also have to pay a transfer fee of R125. I then said that this is unacceptable and left.

Today I phoned Cape Gate branch, who assured me that I have at least 2 free transfers and that the membership should not be R380.

I then phoned the call center myself. The lady at the call center then said that on my contract I have 4 free transfers per year and that my membership fees will only increase to R310.40 at Cape Gate.

I am disgusted that Virgin Stellenbosch/The Call Center person that day, tried to mislead me into agreeing on a higher fee and an unnecessary transfer fee. Hope that this is not a usual occurrence and sly money making scheme.
