Cancelation fee

I joined the gym with an intention of going every morning.i then got a new job in which the horison gym was to far so i moved but do to circumstances i am no longer to afford gym. When i called in i was advised that i will have to pay R1800.00 cancelltion fee obvisouly if i cant pay monthly how will i pay that amount!!! surely there is something that can be done as im wasting my money for something i am not using!!!
