In May I complained about the high humidity levels and lack of ventilation at Virgin Active Randburg. After communication being dropped by the manager, and numerous complaints to staff and assistant managers at the front desk being ignored, my partner and I have cancelled our memberships.

On one occasion, an assistant manager turned the temperature down by slightly less than two degrees, which dealt with the problem effectively. We know that it can be dealt with, but no-one appears to be willing to maintain this temperature. We had started to avoid gym because it was so unpleasant to exercise in the humidity.

After this problem, and the rudeness we dealt with when cancelling our contracts, we will be looking at other gyms.
