27 March I tried to purchase a toy for my son's birthday on the 7th of April, using my discovery miles and pay in the R17.60 shortfall using my FNB Check card. The check-out crashed and when I tried again, all my miles were gone. I called Toys R Us to ask them if the order had gone through. I was told by Suki that it had not and that transactions using check cards were not possible. I had at the same time submitted an enquiry on the website and was emailed by Nomahlubi to also tell me there was no trace of the order. I sent through proof that my miles had been taken off, so that they could refund me. Later I checked my Internet banking, and the R17.60 had been deducted. On the 5th of April my wife got involved and spoke to people at the head office. She finally got something done, they gave us a voucher for the value of the toy and agreed to refund me my miles. It still took 2 weeks more to get that right. I was then called to confirm I would get my miles back and I told the lady about the R17.60. I checked my account a couple days later, to see they had deposited R17.60 in cash. I was charged R20 for the deposit. I emailed them on the 26th about this, and haven't had a response.
