Woolworths
VALUE FOR ITEMS BEING 1 CENT EACH

Shops, Products, Services

We have a baby whose birth weight was 1.995kg on the 11 January 2013. We received lots of gifts & sorted them out and returned to Woolworths for a gift card to purchase something else that will fit her. On the 29th March I took the gifts to Edgars, Ackermans & Woolworths. The other 2 stores were very helpful and when we got to Woolworths, we were treated like criminals. I took the baby and her birth certificate as proof. We were advised that we will only receive 1 cents per item as the cut off date was the 29th March. I advised the cashier it is the 29th March, but she wouldn't listen to me. I asked for a manager and was mocked by the staff at Woolworths. They asked me for receipts. I explained it was gifts and where am I supposed to get receipts. They told me that will only get 1cent. I called the Woolworths Head Office to complain and was told the same. I received a call from the Admin Mananger, Mr. Sipiwe on the 16th April telling me the same thing. He said that the prices of goods are on the system for a limited period. I asked him dont they have back-up as technology is advanced and he cut my telephone call. It is unethical to ask a receipt from anybody that you receive a gift from.
