I had received gifts from a baby shower, of which some were duplicates. I returned these to Edgars Vaalmall and received a gift card. Following the birth of my son, the same thing happened whereby I had to return duplicate gifts which had no receipt. When I tried to do this, the manager refused to accept the items stating that I "always return items without receipt" although this was only the second time. When I questioned the exchange policy, I was told I had an "attitude" and he refused to take the items back. I was then told that if I wanted to return items in future "I should ask people to provide a gift receipt". This is unrealistic as I am unaware of who will be buying a gift for me and from which store. So to make it simple, I will ask everyone I know not to buy from Edgars! Furthermore I am closing my Edgars account and taking my shopping elsewhere- all if which the store manager says he is fine with. I complained to head office and got a call back from him whereby he simply repeated what he had said earlier. I have not received any apology and with this current "policy" Edgars is guaranteed to lose more customers.
