Account debited when doing an exchange

I am extremely unhappy with truworths, I went and bought a skirt which cost R220 and the size was a bit small so i returned it for the same skirt of a bigger size. I didn't need a refund just wanted to exchange. I was told that i need to produce the card i used to purchase the skirt they will reverse the payment. I only realized when my phone beeped that R220 had been debited instead of credited into my account. I then ask the cashier why am I paying for the skirt again when i had already paid for it. She said that my money will be credited back within 3 working days. There is nowhere on the slip or in the shop where they tell you of this rules about reversal of payments. I asked the lady then if i didn't have money in my account and wanted to exchange what was gonna happen she tells me that i was not going to be able to exchange it was gonna decline. I mean i have paid for the skirt already why pay again and wait 3 days to get my money back that is ridiculous. They should say this on their slips or in the shop and not just take people's money.
