Makro
Makro sold me a used DSTV Decode

Shops, Products, Services

On the 18th April I purchased a DSTV Single View Decoder plus Installation Voucher for R599 plus R200 for delivery. The decoder was delivered and we called the installer to get it installed. All of which happened perfectly. The we called the DSTV activation centre to activate the decoder, they informed us that the decoder was registered in someone else's name and needed to be returned to Makro. Then thinking that this was impossible we tried again and this time on further enquiry established that this decoder was purchased before we did on the 12th April 2013 and was returned as faulty. Makro then shipped the same decoder to us. We now have a decoder that doesn't work and cant be registered. So much for the ease of online shopping. Makro's selling us a used faulty previously registered decoder is in serious breach of SA's Consumer Protection act and needs to be rectified with compensation to us as the consumer for wasting our time. It also makes a mockery of online shopping. This is exceptionally poor and customer service on a corporate level and is not acceptable.
