Wrongfully listed on on ITC, appalling service

I've had countless problems with this company. I bought something from them in 2007 and I paid it off in 4 months, the first problem I encountered was they delivered a wrong item. Back and forth quarrels and this was sorted out. 5 yrs later I discovered that they have listed me on ITC for non-payment!! I went to the branch to query this late last year and I was assured this matter will be rectified. A week ago I discovered they still had my name listed on ITC. I went to the branch on Wednesday and I spoke to Antoinette (the branch manager) to get answers on this matter. she escalated the matter to Bets Wright the regional manager. I requested them to issue me with a letter confirming that I don't owe them anything and needless to say I am still NOT in possession of such a letter, how long can it take to draft a letter?? They did confirm that it was an error from their side however no one to date can tell me what exactly happened and why and how my name shows that I owe them money on ITC.
Strangely how they were quick to wrongfully list me, however now I'm being told that such things take a while to resolve and rectify.
This is another case of Defamation of character...
