Made to pay for Spar's broken shelf plate

I went into Spar to buy lemon creams and as I picked up the biscuits the shelf plate fell on the floor and broke, I looked around for someone and there wasn't anyone and I went to go pay and tell the teller what happened the manager Brain came to me shouting and yelling why I broke the plate and he is going to call the policy if I do not pay R50 for the broken plate. I said I was going to report it to the teller and he said I need to pay for it. I paid R50 for a faulty shelf. The worst part is the fact that this shelf glass could have injured my kids but what I got from the manager was a bad attitude and on top of that I had to pay for it.
