Ottomans damaged within 3 months of purchase

I purchased two ottomans at the branch on the 31st of December 2012 and went to return them on the 18th of March as they were damaged. From the 3rd day of purchase, the covers of the Ottomans had been ripping at the seams and all that had been stored in them is shoes. Then the covers began to collapse. When I went into store to return a very rude male sales associate with dreadlocks (I didn't get his name) accused me of sitting on the ottomans and was forceful and aggressive in his approach. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told that the store manager was on training and I would be seen by the aassistant store manager. When she was was fetched by the dreaded salesman, it was obvious that he had briefed her and that she had already made up her mind without having spoken to me. She as well accused me of the pressure that was put on the ottomans.

I was told that they would be taken to a quality surveyor and I would be given feedback by friday the 22nd. It hads been a week and no word from them. i have tried to reach them on their landline 011 452 2793 without joy. The line is not even getting answered. In terms of CPA as a customer I felt that I had been viloated.
