Customer has to climb on ladder for stock?!

Shops, Products, Services

My husband and I went to purchase 2 ottomans. When we got to the furniture department we needed help getting a specific colour ottoman off a high shelf. A woman employee walked by and we asked for help. She became rather irritated and grabbed another male employee to help us. He waved at us as to say he would be right back, but we gave up after waiting about 10 min, and asked another male employee to help us. He took a nearby ladder and got the 2 ottomans down, then we noticed the colours do not match. He went to check stock and while he was away we decided we would take another colour if there was no stock. He came back saying the two on the shelf were the last of that specific colour, and as we turned around to point out which other one we wanted he just walked away! My husband ended up climbing up the ladder and handing the ottomans to me. At least 3 members of staff walked by and looked at what we were doing, and offered NO HELP! How is it acceptable for a customer to have to climb up a ladder in your store? Who would have been held responsible if he had fallen and got hurt?! VERY poor service, I will not visit that store again...
