No proof received of returned goods

I purchased a vacuum cleaner Hoover Storm nearly a year ago from the Waverley Plaza Pick a Pay Branch.
It was defective and I returned in less than a years time, because the product has a one year guarantee on.
The branch was friendly enough to replace the product and provided me with a new vacuum cleaner,
they were however not willing to provide me with a receipt of the date that the trade commenced on.
This product is guaranteed by Tedelex Trading for a year, but now because the store did not want to provide me with a receipt for the trade, I have not proof for the newly guaranteed product. Now I will not even be able to return this product to the manufacturer if it is defective, even though it carries a one year guarantee with them. I have contacted the branch manager and also customer support for Pick a Pay and they all state that it is not part of their policy to provide me with proof of the trade for the new product guarantee to start on.
