Makro does not follow CPA

I purchased a Vacuum Cleaner from Makro. After the first use we found that the vacuum was defective and did not have the power expected as with the demo one that was tried out in the store. It was taken back to the store within a month of purchase. The consultant advised me that the returns policy is 14 Days. This is not in line with the CPA. She said I cannot return it and ask for a refund just because I do not like it. Of course I do not like it... it does not work. I was declined a refund or a new product. It was not may fault that this vacuum does not work. Makro sold me a defected product and now does want to take responsibility for it. This is taken from an article in IOL..who I will be mailing as well.

If something you've sold breaks in some way within six months of purchase, the consumer gets to return it for their choice of refund, replacement or repair. You don't get to say company policy is "no refunds" - not with defective goods.
