MONEY FROM ACCOUNT AND REFUSES TO REIMBURSE

I went into woolies last week to pay my cellular acc, and their machines were apparently faulty, after swiping my card numerous times, and recieving error messages, i eventually had to pay cash.i was assured by the cashier Nolene that if the transaction went through, it would be reimbursed later that evening. To my horror, I used the same debit card on the weekend, which was declined, and after getting bank statements i discovered R1100 was taken from myacc by Woolworths, After speakin to the manager Petronella who refuses to reimburse me unless i GO INTO A BANK, PAY FOR STATEMENTS, AND DRIVE TO THE STORE, I am now LIVID!!! WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR MY PETROL COSTS FROM RUNNING UP AND DOWN OR FOR MY BANK STATEMENTS WHEN THEY HAVE CLEARLY TAKEN EVERY CENT FROM MY ACCOUNT??
This is utter, as I am currently unemployed and i have to run around at my own expense for their mistake!!!
I would never shop at a woolworths store again, and will take this matter to the press as well as small claims court if not resolved within 24 hours!!!
