My order for a new bookcase has been a disaster. I initially purchased a book case on sale.. No indication was given that this was a shop damaged goods sale. The discount on the irem was R3000 (from R17000 to R 14000). At the store the incompetence of the teller staff to process my credit card transaction led to a 45 minute delay in processing the payemnt due to a problem with the credit card shop floor limit
On receipt on the item it was found to have severe internal damage to the shelving inside the bookcase cabinet. I returned the goods after being severely screamed at by the manager Mr. Koenie (he obviously has no clue about the consumer protection act).
The item was reordered as new but now we have delays in delivery. We tried to call the store re a delivery date after being promised that they would get back to us after the balance was paid into the Wetherlys account. Finally in desparation for this ordeal to end I contacted the head office.
This level of customer service for such an established and well regarded business is absolutely unacceptable.
In future I will be very reluctant to do business with Wetherlys
