I have a preschool in Scottburgh and supply breakfast, snack and a cooked lunch to 60 children each day. For the past 8 years I have bought all our groceries from Pick 'n Pay. Last year I spent over R120, 000.00 in this store for the school - check my Smart Card for proof! Today I asked to buy some small donut boxes to place our valentine's cupcakes in. I was simply told NO, when I asked why, I was told that they don't have a barcode. When I asked if I could speak to a manager to see if a plan could be made, I was told NO. I fully understand that this item is not a retail item, however, surely a plan of some sort could have been made. I was not expecting them to be donated either. I needed 60 boxes, which I'm sure cost no more than 50c each to the company. So for approximately R30 you have lost business which would have been over R120, 000.00 this year. I find this disgusting customer service, especially after spending in the region of R800, 000.00 in this store since my school opened. Within 5 minutes Shoprite Checkers helped me with a smile! Guess who is going to be getting my school's business from now on!!!
