Children's right to Education

I visited the school last year to discuss enrollment for my 2 children: grade 1 & 2, I was denied entry and advised that the school was over capacity. I was told to go to Department of Education. I was not able to put my children onto a waiting list for that school which works against us now. This school is approximately 500m away from my home. Mr Kruger of the Department of Education is not reachable by phone, no one is able to give me a number to contact him. He is the person who is supposed to assist with getting my children into school. He phoned me yesterday and gave me a name of a school I did not apply at and that was not close to home. I have phone over 20 schools and have heard the same story! My children have a right to education and a right to go to the school closest to home. Right now they are sitting at home and that is a contradiction of their right to education. When I try to phone the district office for help - there is no answer. When I was lucky enough to get through and asked for Mr Kruger - no one who he was. I need someone to help!
