Refused to repair watch under guarantee/poor servi

On 10/10/13 I purchased a HL1090 watch @ Foschini Lewis, Church str, PTA CBD. 3 months down the line the watch proved to be defective in marterial as the belts started worning out like a wet paper. With the guarantee and proof of purchase, I immediately took the watch to the store on Wed 5 Feb 2014 for repair as such defect was still covered by the 1 year guarantee. On arrival I spoke to Linah who immediately rejected my request by virtue of the fact that belts are part of plating which means are not covered by warranty. I showed her what was stipulated on the quarantee which read 'if HALLMARK watch described in the quarantee proves to be defective due to any defect in marterial or workmanship - under normal and service, it will be repaired and/or adjusted at no charge for a period of one year from the original purchase date'. She still refused saying that belts are part of plating as stipulated under Item 2 on the quarantee and if they fix them I will be liable for the repair cost. I then left the watch at the store. The issue was then escalated to area manager, Cherise, who also dismissed my request by pointing Item 4 on the guarantee. I was unhappy with the service I got.
