All round disappointing

I had floors installed by Floors Direct Woodmead in early September 2013. It was off to a bad start when I took a day of leave and they didn't keep their appointment.

Since then, I have been trying to get a response from them regarding the billing of the flooring. Before installation, you have to pay in full and this includes a 10% buffer for extra material in case their original measurements quoted aren't 100% accurate. As such, one expects that they would bring the material quoted (i.e. including buffer) - no more, no less. Based on this assumption (and as discussed when quoted), I would expect to be refunded for any excess material which is taken away once the installation is complete.

I noted that quite a few boxes were taken back after installation (I had done some alterations to my home which had decreased the floor area) and assumed Floors Direct would do the necessary regarding the refund.

I have since been following up regularly, both telephonically and by email, and have yet to received an explanation as to why I have not been refunded any amount.

Very disappointing and I am unlikely to recommend them - I'm sure other companies would offer better service.
