Makro can't test, Rep not fixing, playing taxi

Our TV and decoder was recently struck by thunder. We claimed from insurance, which was a frustrating ordeal of its own. Our TV got replaced by a Samsung from Makro, which we discovered was incapable of collectively handling 2 decoders, home theatre & DVD all at once. After inspection by more technical members of the familiy, an output socket seemed out of order. We returned the TV to Makro on Tue 4 Feb. Makro COULD NOT OFFER TESTING THE PRODUCT ON THEIR PREMISES and management referred the matter to what they called a Samsung rep. They insisted our home set up be checked out. This rep at the time was in a meeting in Centurion and management asked if we would mind picking him up. We enquiered why a rep had no vehicle, upon which management replied that he is actually a Samsung Ambassador. We had to pick him up from his meeting at Centurion Mall and drive him home with us, where he attempted to fix things. After that he had to be driven back to Makro. According to him, new TVs only have 1 output. Our previous Sony HDMI worked fine. We even joked " So these days you pay more for less? " & he replied "yes". Now sound stays on, when we switch off TV, seeming to have been bypassed only.
