On the 8/01/2014 my wife chose a ring for me as a surprise gift. She was reluctant to make the purchase as she intended giving it to me on the 15th (our 25th anniversary) in Mauritius, and we would only return to SA on the 21st. The refund/exchange policy stipulated the item had to be returned within 10 days of purchase. Furthermore the condition is that a sale item may not be refunded. She explained this to the sales assistant Zizipho who assured her that because of the circumstances the store would indeed waive the T's and C's. On the 23 Jan the store refused to refund the item on the basis of its T's and C's. Zizipho was not in the store and they explained that she only helps out in the store at busy times so she should NOT have promised the waiving of T's & C's. To us she is indeed a bona fide employee of NWJ. Their head office then approved a refund in vouchers. This forces me almost at gunpoint to spend R 3100 at the franchise. Two calls and messages left with Louise at their head office have gone unanswered for the past 14 days. I want my cash back. NWJ needs to uphold it promise to waive its T's &C's by Zizipho. Ronald the store manager is unhelpful!
