Refuse to take shoes back

I purchased a pair of shoes at Truworth's Parow Centre. I usually wear a size 5 or 6 and upon purchasing the size 5 book it fit and seems to feel okay on my feet. I then bought the shoe. The day I decided to wear the shoes I put them on about 45 minutes before leaving the house to go wherever I needed to go but found that after a while the shoes were hurting me around the heel section. I them took the shoes off and placed them in the box again. I was at Kenwilworth Centre the weekend past and took the shoes there asking whether they can credit my account as I would definitely need a size 6 in that particular shoe. The lady at the counter told me she can see the shoe has been worn already and that they can't take it back. I explained to her that I did not go out. She still refused to take the shoes. So I am being told that I am a indirectly. I explained that I was indoors at the time of wearing the shoes for less than an hour after they started hurting me. Sorry to say it but I have been shopping at Truworths for years but I doubt I will again or recommend them to anyone especially not to buy shoes. Their service stinks. R500 spent on a thing I cannot use.
