Returns of purchases

I have an account with rage store, went to the shop to buy some shoes however taken so much credit than planned and decided to take the shoes back to the store.. i haven't worn the shoes and not damaged at all, the shop cashier refused to take the shoes back entirely saying i can only exchange that's how things work in Rage everywhere. when i look at the slip it says returns on credit must be within seven days which i tried returning three days before due date.. I feel cheated on and considering to terminate the account.. I am lady on a budget this will affect my finances
