Eturn policy? consumer act coming your way!!!

I bought a pair of pants about 4 months ago, when I got home i did not fit me and i put it back nicely in the original package, still with the price tag attached and the slip. I totally forgot about the pants! I found it whilst cleaning out my cupboard and took it to store on Saturday, and i am being told that I cannot return or swop it for anything else as the so called return policy is 1 month??? Really now? i took it back for a reason, I cannot wear it and i dont want it and it is still brand spanking new!!! with the pricetag still attached and the slip and all! What do you want me to do with it now? so i was thinking, I will have to approach the consumer act now and Truworths are ripping me off!!!
