KIC's customer service standard is the phrase: Our technician will contact you 30 minutes before they arrive. They cannot tell you when the technician will arrive because this information they do not have either. I have been waiting for a technician to attend to my brand new KIC fridge since Thursday (apparently this is when the supplier, Makro Vanderbijlpark, finally logged the call with KIC. Although I contacted Makro on Wednesday 15 February.) First SMS from KIC Thursday 15th 09h33. A service call has been logged. I contacted the Call Centre on Friday, 16 Feb. Explained that no technician has yet arrived, can they please organise for him to call before 12h00, I have an urgent meeting to attend at my office in Jhb CBD at 13h00. Call Centre will attend to this and phone me back. When I phoned the Call Centre at 11h40 I was advised technician in Parys, will only be able to come out on Monday 18th. Monday 18th, no technician, call centre system is down. In the meantime R580 worth of food deteriorated and discarded. Monday 18th 15h58, SMS from KIC, call logged for urgent resolution. Tuesday, after another call to call centre, it is 09h20, no technician, no feedback.
