Sold out before promotion start date

I received an e mail from Makro with regard a One Day Deal valid for Sunday the 19/01/2014. The deal was for a Camp Master Thermo Cooler bag. My daughter went to the Germiston store early on Sunday morning to avoid disappointment only to be told that the Thermo cooler's were sold out and they did not have stock. When questioned as to why as the store had only just opened she was told that the promotion had started the day before. How can you start a Sunday One Day Deal On Saturday. I think this is unacceptable. Did they ever have stock of the product on promotion? Is this just a tactic to bring people into the store? I have complained on Makro's website and they say that they will get back to you in 24 hours. It has been more than 72 hours and I have not heard from them.
