A truly exceptional human being

A month ago, I was served by Debrah when my repeat prescription was due. Her warm personality and empathetic nature was almost palpable. She informed me that one of the medications was the last repeat and I needed a new script. I told her that my doctor of the past 12 years had passed away two weeks ago, and I could not bring myself to go to someone else yet, as she was also a dear friend. Debrah expressed her sympathies and I could feel that she really meant every word. On Monday, 6 January, I went to Dis-chem again for the repeat script (sans the one mentioned). It so happened that I was again attended to by Debrah. When she read the names of the medicines from the screen, she asked quietly if I still could not bring myself to go to another doctor and whether I was coping with my loss. I was speechless! How many whining and many truly ill people had she attended to over the past month? Yet she remembered one person and expressed understanding and empathy again? When I complimented her on her exceptional human nature, she actually became shy and said I made her blush. What an example to anyone who is lucky enough to meet her. Thank you for being you, Debrah.
