Never buy a cellphone from Pep Stores!

On 29 October 2013 (i.e. just over 2 months ago), I purchased a Nokia Asha 210 cellphone with twitter, internet and whatsapp facilities and with a 4 gig memory card. On 19 December it stopped working on twitter, internet and whatsapp and as I was on holiday in Cape Town it was taken, firstly, to an MTN store where they looked at the cellphone and said it was faulty. I then went to Autopage in Canal Walk as they are my SP. Llewellan assisted me and spent about 2 hours liaising with Autopage's technical department and they, too, reported that the cellphone is faulty. I could not take the phone in to Pep Stores while in Cape Town as I did not have the cash slip or box with me.
I went into Pep Stores, High Street, Grahamstown this afternoon and spoke with Ronnie, the manager of the shop. He informed me that he could only send the cellphone for repairs and could not exchange it and that it would take 2 to 3 weeks to repair. This is absolutely ridiculous - in this day and age with couriers and express posting it should not take more than 2 or 3 days to repair. Why does Pep Stores not have an authorised repairer in Grahamstown if they are selling faulty cellphones?
