EXCHANGE POLICY POOR FOR DAMAGED GOODS

Shops, Products, Services

Went into the store to return a NINE CO handbag that I bought at Edgars in October 2013 because the stictching on the handbag is loose. I dont think that after 4 months the stiching should be coming loose already, and for something that one pays almost R500 for. I advised that I bought the handbag cash and that I do not have the receipt anymore, as I have checked all over for it. I was advised that I cannot return that handbag without a receipt because it is a NINE CO bag. I even said that I would settle for a voucher which would mean that I still need to use it in an Edgars store. I then asked for the store manager and was advised that his off sick, I then asked for the name of the area manager, "no they cannot give that information out", and neither can they give me the store managers name. Who are they and are they "UNTOUCHABLE"?? As a customer I feel I have the right to get the information that I am requesting and who are they to not give the information. I want to know why and what are they going to about the handbag which I have no receipt for, I want them to take back their handbag because I didnt pay so much money for handbag only to have it breaking after such a short time
