Would not exchange a broken handbag

I purchased a Guess handbag at Edgars using gift vouchers. Within 3 weeks of owning the handbag, the one strap broke. I did not keep the receipt for the bag... but as it was bought recently, the exact same bag was still clearly available in the store. (And it had the bag it came in etc). I had asked my mom to return it for me as I was unable too... and management refused point blank saying it could be a rip off bag that had been purchased elseware. When you spend R1000 on a handbag which breaks in less than a month, it is DISGUSTING that the shop purchased from (Edgars) would not exchange it especially as they were clearly available in the store. (no doubt it was purchased from there!) After closing my Edgars account due to that was committed on it... and now this disgusting service (with implications that I am being dishonest about where I purchased the bag - when they are clearly displayed in the store) I will not be shy to voice my opinion of Edgars and the terrible service received!
