Owning up to a mistake and keeping me up to date

My last purchase was a product that was listed at an incorrect (and much cheaper) price than normal. When the product was added to my shopping cart, however, the correct and much more expensive price was listed. I phoned Customer Services and I was assisted by a Mr Jodie (I think). He bent over backwards to help me and 3 days later I got a gift voucher covering the difference between the price I saw and the price it really costs, allowing me to pay only the price I saw. He phoned me every day to provide an update on the situation. He was friendly and incredibly helpful.

This sort of service makes me feel good and important as a customer. In an age where more and more people are going to start buying most of their stuff online, I think customer services is going to become the defining factor that influences people where they buy. Companies make mistakes, but it is really fantastic when they own up to a mistake and try to correct it. Please send my thanks to Jodie for standing up and providing me with great service.
