After querying the validity of my R500 off R2500 sms voucher on sale items with the till operator and supervisor, I requested to speak to a real manager. I was then taken to the management office by the tilll operator (forgot his name, but he was a great help).

I then explained to the manager that it makes no sense that I get offered a sms voucher valid only valid the same time as the red-hanger sale where most of the store is on sale and the voucher is not valid for those items.

He then said that the options I have are either purchase the items at full price and have the R500 discount apply to the purchase, alternatively, I could have the red hanger discounts. After some further discussion, I finally accepted that I wasn't going to get both. And so I told him that my red hanger discount exceeds R1000 and I will therefore not be using my sms voucher.

While walking with the manager and till operator back to the till, the manager proceeds to ask which of the two options have I chosen and giggles, obviously mocking me.

1. This manger's behaviour is unacceptable.

2. Why does Edgars offer me a voucher that will be near impossible to use over the validity period?
