BAD QUALITY CAUSES BREACH OF CONTRACT

I returned shoes after 2 weeks, as the leather on the heel had broken away. I was told by the owner of Socrati that the left & the right shoe were supposed to be different & it was not a problem that the leather was breaking away. She did not see why the quality of the shoe was a problem if the leather is broken away on one left heel & the right heel is still intact. At most of their shoes being over R1000 per pair I would have thought quality was an aim in their business. They may soon be in trouble in the areas they sell to, if they cannot replace a defective product.

We had to go to 2 stores to report this problem, as the store manger in Hyde park where the shoes were purchased, told us it would take longer to get the owner to see the shoes if we did not drop them in Sandton, then had to wait 24 hours for the owner to get back to us, because she does not allow her store managers to have any authority.
