My account went in arrears and got handed over to their collections department in 2011. I paid it off in October 2012. Round about June this year I went to the Woodlands branch to find out if account could be activated again. The consultant told me that the account must be closed and a new one can be opened. I first had to get a confirmation letter from them that account was paid in full. On 10/7/2013 Yvonne Mashiya (customer service administrator) emailed the letter to me. In October I went to the Menlyn branch to open a new account. The consultant just told me I'll have to wait another year, nevermind my explanation of the other consultant and the letter (which I had with me). Now, who mislead me, Woodlands or Menlyn. Because their communication with clients is not professional. Even when I went to Log In online, my October 2013 statement shows I'm R1047 in arrears but the interim statement shows my balance is R0. I am very disappointed with Edgars!
