Infinite Balance

In 2001 I opened an account as a student with Sales House. I could not pay it then when I started working this balance haunted me, it was about a thousandrand and something if not mistaken, I paid it and closed the account. A year later I get letters that I owe ridiculous amounts that change to up and down every month, R24, R54, R200 all sorts, I was now in Pretoria, I went to pay the account in Edgars and explained that I don't owe Sales House, I had paid and closed the account waiting for a confirmation letter i never recieved. Then again I paid and spent about an hour or over waiting for the operator assisting in closing of my account within edgars store and the operator assured me that the account is closed, I must wait about a month to recieve a confirmation letter, never got that letter, it must have been 2009. Only last year again I have started recieving emails that I owe them and that i must go in stores to pay them.

I am tired of explaining myself over and over with Edgars, as far as i'm concerned I owe them nothing, until when should I be paying them?
