Flies on the cakes

On 23 November 2013 I went to Checkers at the Ridge Shopping Mall in Shallcross. I always patronise this store, but before purchasing cakes, I asked the sales staff if the cakes were fresh. They assured me that the cakes were definitely fresh. It was only then that I made the purchase.

I went home only to discover that the cakes were absolutely stale and this was not the first time I experienced such problems. I phoned the store and complained to Clive the manager who said they never sell the previous days cakes. I took the cakes back to the store as proof off stale cakes. He was left speechless.

On 25 November 2013 I went to this same store to purchase cakes only to discover flies on the cakes. I have a photo taken with my cellphone as proof. I did bring it to the attention of the staff. They went in pursuit of the flies but left the cakes on the shelve for others to purchase which is a health risk.

I certainly think this store poorly managed. The management is clueless as to what happens in the store.

I am tired of complaining to the store, therefore I look forward to Checkers head office to contact me.
