In March 2013 I purchased furniture from a russells branch and as I always do, I took out comprehensive insurance on the furniture so that in case I was retrenched the insurance would clear the debt. Fast foward to October 2013 I have been retrenched - I have submitted all the documents for the insurance to be activated and pay the debt but yet everyday there is some new person calling me telling me that I need to make a payment. Today I get a call from an absolutely rude individual demanding that I pay because apparently the insurance only kicks in after 6 months of a purchase. I would like to know if that was the case why was I not made aware of this stipulation before I signed the purchase documents - it is not written anywhere on the contract of purchase yet now you have this telling me that I payed for a service that is not going to do anything for me. Russells and the whole JDG group has to be biggest foken in this country. Why must I pay an extra R300 for something that's not going to help me- they come across as passing the buck because at the end of the day the just want to fill their dirty pockets.
