I purchased a dress on sunday 10/11/2013 at Sandton City and decided the next day that it was ill-fitting and decided to return it. on arrival at the store on 12/11/2013 i was informed taht the store makes no refunds. i asked if i could recieve a credit note/gift voucher instead and this was refused. i was told my only option was to exchange for something of the same value or more in the store. i was also told that this exchange for goods needed to take place within the seven days from purchase. i informed the staff that i did not wish to exchange for anything in the store at present and that i would prefer a voucher so that i could use it for another item when i saw something i wanted. the staff responded that this was not possible. i was forced to exchange for something more expensive and staff became very rude, terse and unhelpful in trying to find something when they realised it was not a new sale. No store should treat its customers in this way, forcing them to make exchanges in a rush and being rude. at the very least, a customer should be warned about a policy like this.
i used to be a loyal customer, but will not be shopping somewhere like this again.
