Foschini
Late payment sms and marketing calls

I think that Foschini is disrespecting my privacy by sending numerous sms for late payment - before the 7th of the next month and also calling at erratic hours for marketing purposes. I have been a gold card holder for close to 20 years (since matric) and have a good credit rating. This month I was charged R20 for the sms and my instalment due was R30 - totally ridiculous, when I went instore to complain the call centre agent had such an attitude that I decided to settle the account - and want to close this account. Last month (or September unsure) I discovered that I was being charged an amount without my knowledge for insurance club or whatever - since 1998 but before I got our lawyer onto them it was reversed! Our SA laws are very lenient on these cheap tactics used by retail groups; I am going to investigate further (and post in 'off my trolley' if not sorted). Foschini's has been charging for sms for a few months now and I want all this reversed as well!
I am sure if I post an article in the 'STAR' or 'ARGUS' - many clients would take this matter up. How come the Stuttafords or Woolworths aren't doing this... why? Because they value their customers&privacy!
