Trying for 3 months to cancel useless Edgars polic

Edgars consultants contacted my wife and persuaded her to take out three different insurance policies with them being a funeral policy, Family provider plan and Hospital cash back plan.
After a few months of taking these policies and NOT RECEIVING ANY POLICY DOCUMENTS my wife decided to cancel these as they were useless without the documentation. She tried several means of communication but all failed so she sent them an email in July this year requesting the cancellation of the first two policies. Since then the mails have been forwarded to them monthly as per email address on the statement but still the policy premiums were charged to her account. On Sunday 10th November 2013 they called her about her payment which she had held back until the policies were cancelled and I spoke to the consultant informing her that the payment will be made as soon as we have confirmation in form of an email that the policies were cancelled. I also sent them an email confirming this. This morning they have the audacity to phone and threaten my wife with legal action should the payment not be made today. It is quite clear Edgars don't care about client requests only their funds due nothing else.
