Special Pre-Order Offer Misleading

Takealot offered the new GoPro3 on special pre-order with guaranteed delivery by 31st October. Besides numerous technical issues trying to place the order (which were eventually resolved with some helpful tech staff) they gladly took payment.
I eagerly awaited the delivery of the unit but nothing arrived. I emailed the site and then received a phone call from the Go Pro buyer. She made a few statements to try justify the situation but honestly I dont buy it.
Her first claim was that they only found out of the stock shortage the day before delivery?? I find that very hard to believe. How do you run a special without some idea of stock holding or delivery availability? Surely they knew of the problems well before delivery date?
The second claim is complete rubbish - she said that they called every customer that ordered a unit to notify them that there is a delay with the product - I know this is false. My friend also ordered the unit and he didnt receive a call either - but she called him and told him the same story as me. Not a good idea to to your customers. Its a bit annoying that a company can take your money and not deliver. I am awaiting a full refund.
