Failure to Deliver Pre-Order on Release Date

I pre-ordered an item with a release date of 1 November, which Takalot stated would be delivered on that date if I completed the order and payment by Wednesday the 30th of October. I completed the order and payment on the 17th of October (well in advance of the deadline).

By 4pm on 1 November, the item had not been delivered. After contacting Mr Delivery, they stated that the item should have been with me already, and they would contact the courier and call me back. After 40 mins I had still not heard back from Mr Delivery, and contacted Takealot directly to see if they could advise me of the situation. An agent at the Takealot contact center stated that he could see it had not been delivered, and assured me it would be delivered by the 4th of November.

I specifically placed my pre-order with Takealot because it was important to me to receive the item on the release date, and I trusted them to deliver the product on the 1st of November as they stated. I am extremely disappointed and upset that Takealot has let me down, and that they were unable to give me a reason why there was a delay, or even a decent apology.
