REFUND REFUSED - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

On Saturday 14:28 26/10/2013. I bought groceries and a cooler box which I put the spaghetti; mince;mix a drink and veggies in the cooler box, as I picked up the box the handle broke. I was told to go to the KIOSK as I refused to take the cooler with a broken handle. I asked for a refund and a manager who was on duty refused to refund me... the cooler was R129.99 I told him I'm not going to take the broken box, he went on and called his colleagues who inspected the box and said I had to take it. I asked where does it say that I pay for something and as I pick it up, it breaks in the store, I should take it? I asked for his name and he refused to give me his name and no one in that office wanted to give me their details. In anger I left the cooler box and took my till slip. The managers name is ODWA QHANI / KHANYA name given by security guard who wasn't sure of the surname. I don't know what is shoprites policy when it comes to their customers or is it because it is at Khayelitsha and we do not deserve to be treated WELL and accept the bad service given?
