Pick 'n Pay
Maggot infestation in Pick n Pay branded pet treat

Shops, Products, Services

On Sunday, 13th October, I bought a pack of Pick n Pay branded hooves for my two dogs.
On Monday morning I opened the pack and gave them one each& closed the pack with a peg, then stored it back into the cupboard that I keep all my dogs treats in. On Monday afternoon when I got home from work, I opened the cupboard where the hooves were stored to take out a biscuit for them and I immediately got a, fishy smell. I looked into the cupboard and couldn't find anything so I took everything out and cleaned the cupboard. The smell persisted. Each day, I cleaned out the cupboard. On Thursday, I took out the pack of hooves, to give one each to my dog when a bit of sand or something fell out of the pack, I immediately threw the pack of hooves down in disgust when I notices small black things laying in and around the pack. Upon closer inspection, it was dead, rotten maggots that were black and dried out. I have taken photos of the offending product and also immediately contacted your head office Lorelle has been helpful but even after escalating so many times. Given the nature of this complaint, it is appalling that you are dragging your feet on this.
